Counting to one
Folly can be measured with one vote, and democratic elections are clearly a case in point. It turns out then that rudimentary maths is not available to all despite the fact that it is part and parcel of our daily life. When half or a third of voters fail to vote for those who are to govern them, and this attitude is as clear as a day, one may wonder about the meaning of the phrase ‘everyone – meaning no one’. Apparently, a large number of people cannot even count to one.
